Bible Verse of the Day for Tuesday

“Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in Him, and he in God.  So we know and believe the love God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in Him.”

– I John 4:15-16

Bible Verse of the Day for Monday

“But now, this is what the Lord says – he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you , O Israel: ‘Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior, …Forget the former things, do not dwell on the past.  See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.'”

– Isaiah 43:1-3a, 18, 19

Merry Christmas!

Happy birthday, Jesus, and Merry Christmas to all!

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government will be upon his shoulder, and his name will be called ‘Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.’”

– Isaiah 9:6-7

“And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.”

–          Luke 2:7

Merry Christmas to all of you!  As we start a new year, I wanted to share an affirmation of faith across the globe – please pass this on!

I believe that God, the Creator and Lord of this universe, knows and cares for every living person.

I believe that He makes Himself real to us today

through the Scripture,

through our Savior, Jesus Christ,

and through the lives of other persons.

I believe that God’s Spirit is available every moment,

to convict me of my sinful, selfish ways and

to enable me to rise above myself into a Christ-like life.

I believe that God has a mission for me,

to minister in His name and

to share His love and blessings with His needy

children of my own community and of every race and nation.

I believe that as I give to Him my life,

my love, my offerings, and my talents,

he will bring rich meaning into my life

and will use me to help others to a better life in Christ.  Amen

Bonus Verse

“This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.  Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.  But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, ‘Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.  She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.’”

Bible Verse of the Day for Tuesday

“Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Bonus Verse

“And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.  An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.  But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid.  I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.  Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.  This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.’  Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying ‘Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on who His favor rests.’”
